Programs and Services

Pride Developmental Services, Inc. offers the following services and programs which are designed consumer specifically to meet the needs and interest of each individual served.

Supported Employment Services

Supported Employment consists of paid employment for persons for whom competitive employment at or above minimum wage is unlikely, and who, because of their disabilities, need intensive ongoing support to perform in a work setting. Supported Employment is conducted in a variety of settings, particularly work sites in which persons without disabilities are employed. Supported Employment includes activities needed to obtain and sustain paid work by individuals receiving services, including coordination, supervision and training.

Personal Assistance

Personal Assistance services provide necessary assistance for eligible persons in order to meet their daily living needs and to facilitate their participation in community life. Personal Assistance services include direct assistance with daily living, attendant care, household services, money/financial management, assistance with personal maintenance (grooming, bathing, dressing), assistance with meal planning and preparation, assistance with medications that are ordinarily self-administered, supervision, and facilitating community participation by accompanying, assisting, and support the individual as necessary to access community resources and participate in community activities, including appointments, shopping, community recreation/leisure resources, socialization opportunities, and related activities. Personal Assistance primary emphasis is on assistance and support rather than teaching, and doing rather than learning to do.

Day Services

Day Services provides individualized services and supports that enable an individual to acquire, retain, or improve skills necessary to reside in a community-based setting; to participate in community activities and utilize community resources; to acquire and maintain employment; and to participate in retirement activities. Supports provided may facilitate job exploration activities, volunteer work, educational activities and other meaningful, measurable community activities that promote developing relationships and maintaining ongoing relationships with friends and family members. Day Services are geared toward enhancing personal growth.

Supplemental Evaluations

Supplemental Evaluation services are authorized by the Division of Rehabilitation Services to determine the most appropriate supported employment placement for an individual or to ascertain what on-site supports are needed once an individual is successfully employed. It may also be used to reassess the suitability of a placement should an individual's medical condition change. The Supplemental Evaluation process is conducted in actual real job settings in the local community in which an individual resides. The evaluation process can involve up to three different employment sites in the community. Supplemental Evaluations are a very useful tool in the Division of Rehabilitation Services process to ensure that an individual once employed will be successful long-term in an employment setting.

Trial Work Experiences

Trial Work Experiences services are authorized by the Division of Rehabilitation Services to determine whether an individual can benefit in terms of an employment outcome form Vocational Rehabilitation services. Trial Work Experiences are also conducted in actual real job settings in the community in which an individual resides. The Trial Work Experiences process can involve up to three different employment sites in the community. This process is a very useful tool in the Division of Rehabilitation Services process to ensure that individual is appropriate and capable of obtaining and maintaining employment successfully.
